More about this project

Antler River Apartments is an adaptive reuse of a century old building located in London’s charming SoHo (South of Horton) neighbourhood. The building was constructed in 1921 as Western University’s Medical School. It served this purpose until 1965, after which it became a research and outpatient facility and renamed the Health Services Building.

Indwell will created 96 studio and one bedroom apartments in the building. We are also creating a Community Food Hub in the former auditorium of the building. This Hub will provide food security programming to the entire Village SoHo community.

The name Antler River Apartments reflects the name of the river that flows nearby, as called by Indigenous people for centuries. The Ojibwe name of the river Deshkan Zibi, translates to Antler River. Indwell consulted with our Indigenous partners and friends as we contemplated this name, and were encouraged to make an ongoing land acknowledgement through the name.

Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of Londoners, our $5 million community fundraising goal has been reached. We have all the funding in place for this project, and construction will begin in 2026.
