Canada Post Strike and Your Donations

As you may have heard, Canada Post employees are currently on strike, halting mail service across the country. This disruption may affect donations and receipts sent through the mail.

If you’ve mailed a donation recently, we may not receive it until after the strike is resolved. Similarly, receipts mailed this week or last week could be delayed. However, if you’ve donated online, you will continue to receive your digital e-receipt without interruption.

Why This Matters

The most recent Canada Post strike happened right in the middle of our 2024 Year End Appeal. While many of you — our faithful community of donors — thankfully found ways to give towards hope and homes, the disruption still led to fewer year-end donations.

No matter the season, your support plays a vital role in providing life-changing program supports for our tenants. That’s why we’re sharing a reminder of all the ways you can continue to give during this strike.

How to Give During the Strike

Send a note of encouragement

Now more than ever, it is important that our tenants feel connected with others, even if they cannot be physically connected. Send a note of encouragement to be shared with our tenants who are feeling isolated at this time.
