Indwell statement in response to Hamilton Lobbyist Registrar inquiry
Indwell was recently made aware of a technical breach of Hamilton’s Lobbyist Registry By- law. As soon as it came to our attention, the situation was corrected, even though we fundamentally disagree with the conclusion of the inquiry of Lobbyist Registrar. We believe it to be an overreaching interpretation of the By-law and unduly restricts Indwell, as a registered charity that exists for public benefit, from interactions with the mayor, councillors, and city staff.

Hamilton City Council has received the report of the Lobbyist Registrar. Graham Cubitt, Indwell Director of Projects and Development, who is the subject of the report, is prohibited from what might be considered lobbying activities for the next 30 days. He has applied to be registered as a lobbyist on behalf of Indwell.

Indwell has faithfully operated for 50 years in Hamilton creating affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging. Indwell remains committed to always acting with integrity, accountability, and transparency in serving the people of Hamilton in good faith. This remains our commitment to you.
