Indwell celebrates grand opening at new Blossom Park Apartments in Woodstock

Indwell, a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities with supports, celebrated the grand opening of the new Blossom Park Apartments with an open house in Woodstock.

“Indwell is thrilled to launch this modern, highly energy-efficient affordable housing project today. We are committed to addressing the housing and health needs of some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens in a sustainable way, while making sure our environmental impacts are minimized through great design and construction,” said Jeff Neven, Executive Director of Indwell.

Indwell began supporting tenants at the new one-bedroom Blossom Park Apartments (373 Blossom Park Rd) in July. The project’s 34 apartments support tenants in need of affordable housing and supports, often due to mental health and other life complexities. The program offers independent housing yet provides access to additional services such as a daily hot meal, medication support, addictions counselling and programming that fosters independence. Rents are deeply affordable to ensure permanent housing for tenants who have limited incomes.

Indwell is a Hamilton-based charity with extensive experience creating award-winning, multi-residential housing, including the conversion of Woodstock’s historic Harvey Woods knitting mill. Its programs support over 550 tenants in Hamilton, Woodstock, Simcoe and London. Each Indwell community offers a trained staff team that provides tenants who live independently with supports tailored to their situation.

The County of Oxford was instrumental in facilitating this innovative project, ensuring it provides permanent benefits to local Oxford residents. Trigon Construction played a leading role in advancing Indwell’s regional capacity and building knowledge to achieve high-performance Passive House design.
