Experiencing Peace

Scripture reading:

Isaiah 9:6, John 16:33

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your gift of peace in Jesus. May this promise be fully experienced in each of our hearts today as we look to you, our Good Shepherd.

The prophet Isaiah told reader long ago that God would send the “Prince of Peace.” That was Jesus.  And Jesus promises at the end of his time on earth that we will have peace.

I’ve experienced that peace. I remember coming back from British Columbia when I was 24 years old. I was worn out. I had been too busy. My car had broken down, and I was physically exhausted. And then I experienced a time to rest. During that time, I felt an incredible amount of peace. I was like the sheep David describes in Psalm 23; I felt like I was lying in green pastures.

Maybe you’re feeling the same way. Maybe you’re exhausted. If that’s you, I pray that you would not only know the promise of peace, but that you will experience a deep sense of peace from Jesus.

“The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26, NIV).

Now more than ever, it is important that our tenants feel connected with others, even if they cannot be physically connected. Send a note of encouragement to be shared with our tenants who are feeling isolated at this time.
